During the visit, a meeting was held with the participation of Fatemeh Mohammadi Sajiani, Director General of the Cinema Museum. In the meeting, Mohammadi introduced Iran’s cultural and artistic capacities and elaborated on the concept of cultural diplomacy and the role of cinema as one of the most effective means of communication and connection among nations. She also emphasized the importance of developing and strengthening cinema diplomacy.
Cinema was highlighted as a common platform for dialogue, mutual understanding among cultures, and the development of international interactions.
The meeting also emphasized that the strategic and purposeful use of the capacities of Iranian cinema can contribute to strengthening public diplomacy and presenting an authentic and culturally grounded image of Iran to international audiences.
Other topics discussed included the position of Iranian cinema on the international stage, the Abbas Kiarostami Film School, and the poetic and humanistic characteristics of Iranian cinema. The need for greater efforts to introduce and promote these capacities internationally was also underscored.
The visit, held in a cultural and interactive atmosphere, provided an opportunity to showcase part of the capabilities of Iranian cinema and highlight the role of the Cinema Museum in developing cultural and cinematic relations with other countries.
