According to the Cinema Museum of Iran, the 11th edition of the festival concluded with “The Sheep” securing the festival’s Second Best Short Film Award, marking another international recognition for Iranian independent cinema.
This year’s festival featured a notable lineup of Iranian filmmakers, including “A Simple Accident,” “Cause of Death: Unknown,” and “Things You Kill.”
The festival’s Best Film Award went to “A Sad and Beautiful World” by Lebanese director Cyril Aris. The Special Jury Prize was awarded to “Palestine 36,” directed by Palestinian filmmaker Ann-Marie Jacir, and the Audience Award went to “Left-Handed Girl,” directed by Taiwanese filmmaker Hsieh Ching-Tsu.
