The international section of the 16th Ammar Popular Film Festival has officially opened. This year’s edition invites filmmakers and media creators from around the world to submit works that explore themes related to global conflicts, resistance movements, and contemporary geopolitical issues.
Submissions are accepted across a wide range of formats, including fiction films (short, mid-length, and feature), documentaries, animation, music videos, television programs, online content, social-media productions, and AI-generated videos.
The competitive categories highlight subjects such as the humanitarian situation in Palestine, the role of key figures in regional resistance movements, media coverage of conflict zones, grassroots advocacy campaigns, and the impact of foreign military presence in the region. A special section titled “Our Film” encourages the public—particularly young creators—to produce short videos using mobile phones that reflect everyday stories or community experiences.
