Ferdows Cinema Hall opened on August 3, 2004, in the Moqarnas Hall of the historic Bāgh-e Ferdows estate, where the upper floors had been converted into the Cinema Museum in 2002. The hall has a seating capacity of 109.
Located on the ground floor of the Cinema Museum, Ferdows Cinema was renovated and upgraded in 2016 to meet modern screening standards. Originally, this hall was part of the museum’s exhibition space, where early Iranian films were shown to visitors. Later, it was converted into a fully operational cinema hall. The hall’s equipment was further enhanced during the 35th Fajr Film Festival.
The hall officially began operating as a cinema in August 2004, with “Mihman-e Maman” (Mom’s Guest), directed by Dariush Mehrjui, as the first feature film screened there.
