Tamaddon Cinema Hall, with a seating capacity of 52, was inaugurated on October 4, 2018. This hall, the latest addition to the Bagh Ferdows Cinema Complex, is situated adjacent to the administrative section and is primarily used for group screenings, school or organization presentations, and occasional private screenings.
It is important to note that Bagh Ferdows’ Tamaddon Cinema is distinct from the historic Tamaddon Cinema of southern Tehran. The original cinema, located at Chaharrah Sirous, served the local community for 73 years, introducing generations of south Tehran residents to the world of film and the arts. Known by several nicknames—Zarrin Cinema, Teh-Miduni Cinema, and Mowlavi Cinema—this iconic venue was unfortunately closed and demolished in 2004.
An interesting historical note: the original Tamaddon Cinema was established in a building originally intended as a guesthouse. The government of the time insisted on creating a cinema for southern Tehran, and Khan Baba Mo’tazedi, following police recommendations, leased the half-constructed building for 80 tomans per month, giving birth to the cinema that became a cultural landmark.
