1001 Frames Wins Two Awards at Thessaloniki Film Festival

The Iranian filmmaker Mehrnoush Alia’s 1001 Frames captured both the Forward Film Award and the Fischer Audience Award at the 66th Thessaloniki Film Festival in Greece.

The 66th Thessaloniki Film Festival concluded with "1001 Frames", directed by Iranian filmmaker Mehrnoush Alia, taking home two prestigious awards: the Best Film Forward Film Award, accompanied by €8,000, and the Fischer Audience Award.

The festival’s top honor, the Golden Alexander – Theo Angelopoulos Award for Best Film, went to Queen of Cotton, directed by Suzanne Mir Ghani from Palestine. Other winners included the Silver Alexander and Best Cinematography Award to the Greek film Justger Beach by Aristotelis Marakgos, Best Actor to Harry Melling for Column, Best Actress to Sabrina Amali for Maison, and Best Screenplay to Carla, directed by Kristiana Tornatzes.

1001 Frames’ recognition at Thessaloniki further cements its place as a celebrated Iranian film on the international festival circuit.
