“She Is Not Here” Heads to Two Italian Festivals

Short film “She Is Not Here” by Saeed Siri heads to two Italian festivals—Terni and Accordi—following previous wins in Iceland and Canada, telling the story of a 9-year-old girl whose magical sketchbook transforms her world.

The short film “She Is Not Here”, written and directed by Saeed Siri, has been selected for the 21st Terni Film Festival and the 22nd Accordi Film Festival in Italy.

This marks the 11th and 12th international screenings for “She Is Not Here”. The 21st Terni Film Festival, emphasizing themes of peace, international cooperation, migration, technology, and social justice, will be held from November 8 to 16, across various categories including feature films, documentaries, shorts, animation, AI-generated works, and VR/AR projects.

The 22nd Accordi Film Festival in Italy focuses on short narrative, documentary, animation, experimental, and research films, aiming to support emerging filmmakers, strengthen cultural exchange, create professional networking opportunities, and promote independent cinema. It will take place from November 3 to 9, in Naples.

The 14-minute film tells the story of a 9-year-old girl named Kiana who, after a traumatic incident, discovers that her sketchbook holds magical powers capable of altering her surroundings.

Previously, "She Is Not Here" won the Best Directing award at the 15th Pijon International Film Festival in Iceland and was recognized as the best and most impactful film at the Hecare Festival in Canada.
