Two Iranian Films Selected for 33rd Camerimage Festival in Poland

Iranian filmmakers bring their feature and documentary work to the world’s premier cinematography festival in Toruń.

Two Iranian films will be featured at the 33rd Camerimage International Film Festival, running from November 15 to 23, 2025, in Toruń, Poland. Camerimage is recognized globally as the leading festival dedicated to the art of cinematography.

The feature film Dar Sayeh (In the Shadow), directed by Salem Salavati with cinematography by Amir Ali Veisi, a co-production of Iran and Sweden, will compete in the Cinematography Debut Competition. Meanwhile, the documentary “Hameh Kohha Midahand” (All the Mountains Give), written, directed, and shot by Arash Rakhsha, a co-production of Iran and the United States, will screen in the feature documentary competition.

Earlier, 13 films were announced for the festival’s main competition (Golden Frog), including The Guilty Ones (cinematography by Atm Dorald Arkapaa), Hament (cinematography by Wukash Zal), and Formula One (cinematography by Claudio Miranda). Other notable nominees include acclaimed directors and cinematographers such as James Mangold and Fedon Papamichael (A Complete Unknown), Kathryn Bigelow and Barry Ackroyd (Dynamite House), James Vanderbilt and Dariusz Wolski (Nuremberg), and Scott Cooper and Masanobu Takayanagi (Springsteen: From Nowhere to Me).
