The Iranian documentary “Atteqeh”, directed and produced by Masoud Dehnavi, has received the Special Jury Prize at the 18th ENTRETODOS International Human Rights Film Festival in Brazil. The festival, which focuses on films addressing human rights and citizenship, emphasizes diversity and the everyday foundations of society.
Atteqeh tells the story of a woman living in Aytalshab, a small border town in Lebanon. Despite widespread evacuation caused by phosphorous bombings and artillery attacks, Atteqeh remains in her home, providing support and morale to local civilians.
The documentary has previously screened at the 40th Tehran Short Film Festival, the 18th Cinema Verite Documentary Festival, the 16th Slovenian Migrants Film Festival, and ARKIPEL Jakarta, earning awards including Best Short Documentary at Italy’s 26th Lucania Film Festival.
Cinematography was led by Mojtaba Amarloo, editing by Babak Heydari, and sound design by Mohammad Hossein Ebrahimi, with color correction by Mohammad Moradi. Daryače Cinema manages international distribution.
