The Iranian feature film “In the Embrace of the Tree”, directed by Babak Khajeh-Pasha and produced by Mohammad Reza Mesbah and Sajad Nasrollahinezhad, has been awarded Best Feature Film at the 6th Muslim International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada, held from October 10 to 13, 2025.
Founded to provide a platform for Muslim filmmakers and audiences worldwide, the festival celebrates authentic and bold cinematic storytelling. The film explores family and social issues with sensitivity and human insight, earning recognition for its compassionate perspective.
In the Embrace of the Tree is a co-production of the Sooreh Cinema Organization and the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, with international distribution managed by Sooreh International. The film has previously attracted attention at various domestic and international festivals, adding to its growing acclaim.
