“Thank You, Dr. Farsi” Heads to South Korea, Brazil, and Canada

Samaneh Shojaei’s animated short will screen at major festivals across three countries.

The animated short “Thank You, Dr. Farsi” by Samaneh Shojaei is set for screenings in South Korea, Brazil, and Canada.

From November 2 to 6, the film will compete at the Bucheon International Animation Festival in South Korea, one of Asia’s leading showcases for animation, featuring over 130 films across various categories.

It is also part of the competition lineup at the 15th Quebec City Film Festival in Canada, running September 10–14, 2025, and will later screen in Brazil at the 21st AnimArte Festival (November 20–24, 2025), which focuses on films made for and by children and young people.

“Thank You, Dr. Farsi” tells the story of a girl named Minou who finds emotional stability with the help of her psychologist.

Shojaei previously directed “Attributive Acquisition” and “Gray Body,” both produced at the Center for the Development of Documentary, Experimental, and Animation Cinema. “Thank You, Dr. Farsi” marks her third collaboration with the center.
