Restored Version of "Bashu, the Little Stranger" to Screen at the Cinema Museum

The restored version of Bahram Beyzaie’s "Bashu, the Little Stranger," hailed as the greatest film in Iranian cinema, will screen at the Cinema Museum on Saturday, Sept 20th.

The restored version of Bahram Beyzaie’s landmark film, Bashu, the Little Stranger, will be screened at the Cinema Museum, in collaboration with ICOM (International Council of Museums) and the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoon).

Following the film’s win as Best Classic Film at the 82nd Venice Film Festival, Bashu, the Little Stranger will be shown on Saturday, September 20, at 5 PM in the Ferdows Hall of the museum.

Directed and written by Bahram Beyzaie in 1985, the film was initially banned for several years before its first release in February 1989. Widely regarded as a masterpiece, critics and filmmakers have consistently voted it as the greatest film in the history of Iranian cinema.
